Built on the old Robert Mueller Municipal Airport site starting in 2007, Mueller is one of Austin's few master-planned urban infill communities. Homes here were constructed to Austin Energy Green Building standards, which means tighter envelopes, SEER 14+ equipment, and mechanical ventilation requirements that older Austin neighborhoods don't have. That said, the compact lot sizes and shared walls on the rowhouse sections create their own challenges -- pressure imbalances between floors are common when bedroom doors close at night.
