Cypress Canyon is a newer Cedar Park community on the city's western edge, where Taylor Morrison built the majority of homes between 2013 and 2019. Because it went up during the transition to higher efficiency standards, most homes have 14-SEER or 15-SEER systems with R-410A refrigerant and programmable thermostats. The limestone hillside lots are the wrinkle -- homes built into slopes often have partially conditioned crawl spaces or bump- outs that create thermal weak points the original Manual J calculation didn't fully account for.
