AV Homes (now Taylor Morrison) developed Hometown Kyle starting around 2015, with a focus on affordable single-story plans in the 1,400 to 2,200 square foot range. The homes aren't old enough for major equipment failures, but the builder-grade thermostats and single-speed systems leave room for efficiency gains. Because Kyle's growth outpaced its infrastructure, some sections of Hometown still sit on Hays County WCID utility service rather than the city system, and knowing which utility serves the property matters when we're helping homeowners apply for weatherization rebates.
