Kissing Tree is Brookfield's 55+ active-adult community on San Marcos's north side, and it's been building since 2016 with homes in the 1,500 to 2,800 square foot range. Single- story plans dominate, and the construction quality is a step above the production-home standard you'll see in some neighboring subdivisions. That said, the community's hilltop location catches sustained south winds during summer that drive dust and cedar pollen straight into condenser coils. Homes here also sit on Hays County WCID service territory, not San Marcos Utilities, so rebate programs differ from what's available closer to downtown.
